Ana Maria Platon, MD, specializes in pain management and is a chronic pain specialist at The Pain Specialist in Stockbridge, Georgia. She has board certification in anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Platon’s medical education is extensive. In 1992, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota. She went to medical school at the University of South Dakota in 1997 and spent the following year interning at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Platon moved to Georgia to attend the Emory School of Medicine – Emory University in Atlanta. Here, she completed a residency in anesthesiology in 2001 and a fellowship in pain management in 2002.
Dr. Platon has training in the latest procedures and technologies. She uses this knowledge and expertise to treat pain disorders from simple to complex, including arthritis and sciatica. She takes an integrative approach to medicine. Her treatment plans often include working with other specialties, including urology, neurology, neurosurgery, general surgery, or psychiatry.
